Welcome to my first blog post. After setting up a blog 6 years ago and never using it, but always thinking about it, I finally decided to create a new one. This blog is a way for me to express my love for writing, fashion, interior design and in general my love for all things creative.
With that in mind, I thought what better way to start of my blog than with a post about a trip I took to New York City, earlier this year, where I visited some major retail head offices, including Tommy Hilfiger!
*Side note: This post is very photo heavy. Also, I didn't take these photos with a blog post in mind so they aren't the best quality (I'm definitely not a professional photographer) and there aren't as many as I'd like relevant for this post*
The first place I visited was the JC Penny Design and Buying team head office. which was very interesting as I'm currently studying Buying & Merchandising at University. They were planning for the new series of Project Runway, incase you couldn't tell from the above photo, which was very exciting to see! I then got to take a tour of the office and see the new collections they were planning. The part that excited me most had to be the room of new shoes coming out for A/W 17/18. Who wouldn't love to be surrounded by beautiful shoes? I just wish I had enough space in my suitcase to take them all home. This tour gave me a great insight into the trends coming out later this year and I was so pleased to see the Over the Knee Boot making a return - Anyone else live in over the knee boots during autumn & winter?
The next place I visited was the Etsy head office. Etsy is an online market which allows people to sell their products easily online. While I could never see myself working for a company like Etsy, as that isn't where my interests lie at the minute, I can't deny that it was the most beautiful head office I've been in! The layout of it, the artwork that covered the walls and all of the individual spaces within the building came together to create such a peaceful and inspiring head office. I'm not sure how much work I'd actually get done if I worked in an office like that though! However, the best part of this head office was the view. From the rooftop, where they can go and work and have BBQ's and parties in the summer, you have a perfect view of the Brooklyn Bridge; as seen in the first photo of this post. Even though it was a gloomy day, but still quite nice for mid-January in New York, the view was absolutely breathtaking!
I thought I'd save the best place till last - Tommy Hilfiger head office! Inside this office is a dream; they have all of the new collections on show (which looked very exciting!) and loads of Tommy Hilfiger jeans designed by different celebrities, which can be seen above. Personally, I like the Tommy Hilfiger ones the most, but I guess he is an expert in clothing design, so he does know what he's doing.
I could ramble on for ages about how great this head office is, but this post is already so long and I'm not sure how long they should be before you get bored. I also visited two more head offices in New York, so if you would like to hear about those or about New York City in general, let me know as I could talk about New York for days. If you have any other suggestions they would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading, especially if you made it this far & I'll see you in my next post.
